Burlington ....

Mount Nemo on the Niagara Escarpment .....
Check out this post's video link below, it's worth it .....

Mount Nemo is a conservation area that sits on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment.
Not being far from Burlington's sprawl, it attracts people from the city, and introduces them to nature.
My photos really don't do the area justice.
Click here to go to a really beautiful HD video that does ....

Burlington ....

For days like today ....

On the leaf bags - "For days like today" is the trade mark of Canadian Tire, a major Canadian auto repair and hardware store.
I'm not advertising their store - I do (unfortunately) have to use the auto repair section occasionally :-((
Their video (from the link) is bit corny and sentimental, and I suppose patriotic to an extent, but it had decent reviews ....

Re the video - I can't skate either

Burlington ....

Before and after ....

Isn't it amazing the difference a couple of weeks makes?
The top photo was taken on November 2, and the next one was taken today.
The seasons change here very swiftly compared to the what we knew in the UK. Seasonal changes seemed to be much more gradual there.
Although in the last couple of years, I think some would dispute that .....

Burlington ....

Kerncliff park ....

Kerncliff park as you can see was once the site of a quarry. It's now being rehabilitated, and walking trails have been added that help you to explore the area, without destroying the recovery of it.
A boardwalk has been built across the wetland, that allows walkers to see nature first-hand and close-up.
The Bruce Trail runs along the cliff edge as it passes through the park, and you can see the trail barrier in the top photo. This link will take you to The Bruce Trail interactive map .....
The part of the map where Kerncliff park is located is called Iroquoia. Scroll down the map to check it out ....

A very delicate operation ....

Dylan's favourite teddy bear gets some TLC.
It's much-needed after all the "love" he gives it :-))

Crawford Lake, Burlington ....

A very special place ....

Crawford Lake is very beautiful, and also meromictic. Curious? Then go to the link and find out more about a really unique part of Burlington and Ontario.
To prevent the area around the lake being trampled, it has a boardwalk all the way around.
Because of the uniqueness of the lake, swimming or fishing is not allowed, so leave your bather and fishing rod at home.
However, do take your camera, you're sure to need it .....

Bronte Creek Provincial Park ....

Bronte Creek park is the one of the last unspoiled areas of  green-space between Hamilton and Toronto.
That's a terrible statement. It just goes to show how much asphalt and concrete we've poured around here!!
The story goes that a few years ago - when funds were tight - a developer tried to buy it off the province. Thankfully local pressure prevented that.
We use the park often - and are happy to pay for the privilege. We look at it as our contribution to keeping it as it is for our grandchildren and theirs too.
Please check out this link to the "Friends of Bronte" photo gallery of their website. Their pics are four seasonal, and can show you much more .....

Are we there yet??

Dylan looking totally bored on one of his many roadtrips. He always likes the end result though ....

Hamilton ....

Yet another modern convenience.
A sign on Baranga's on the Beach volleyball court wall. It's a local restaurant right on the shore of Lake Ontario.
So here's their link (as a credit) ..... http://www.barangas.ca/

Milton ....

Springridge Farm ....

OK, so it's a pick-your-own touristy type farm you know - wagon rides - gift shops - cafe, etc, etc.
It's only twenty minutes up the road from us, so it's not too far to go.
This shot may a bit fuzzy, but I was being bounced all over the map from being on a unsprung wagon on a rocky road. Thanks to Canon's image stabilisation for this result.
For anyone in the Toronto area who fancy going there, here's the link ....
