Stating the obvious ....
I saw some signs the other day (I didn't have my camera along) that said "CAUTION. Danger from ___________".
The blank area was to be filled in with whatever the danger was, but it wasn't.
Isn't CAUTION or Danger enough??
The amount of time I spent there looking around for the danger, I could have got clobbered with a falling brick ....

Burlington ....
Taken from the top of the Washburn reservoir .....
This reservoir is due to be enlarged to meet the needs of an expanding (make that expanded) North Burlington community.
Maybe they should have started work a bit sooner ....

Cool night lights ....
A few nights ago the temperature was minus 20 C in Burlington.
There was a beautiful clear moon over my neighbour's roof, and the heating vent was puffing water vapour out ....

Quote and Lyrics ....
That's one small step for man ....
Just a'swinging .....
There's a long, long trail a winding ....
Into the land of my dreams ....

Burlington ....
The New Street bike path ....
The Second Cup coffee shop on Lakeshore Road ....
Lake Ontario and the Burlington Teen Tour Band winter light display in the background ....
Canadian back-saver .....
Best 'toy' I've bought in a while - a snow thrower .....
Small and lightweight - four stroke power with electric start - pulls itself into the snow, and throws it well.
Made in Canada!
A good product, and so far, I'm pleased with it .....

Hamilton ....
A quiet (for a change) coffe shop ....
Timmy's or Tim Hortons is one of Canada's best kept secrets. Wherever I've been in the country, I've never known a quiet one - true!
My favourite 'cake' there are the muffins, click here to see the muffin menu - Mmmm ....
I've never checked the history of the Tim name, so for this shot I did, and amongst other things, found out that their first store was in Hamilton.
Click here to go to page about their history.
The name Tim Hortons comes from its founder who was a famous hockey player.
I'm no hockey nut, so click here to read about his life. He died in 1974 after opening his 40th store.
Currently there are over 3,600 stores throughout Canada and USA so you could say it's been quite a success ....

Mobility .....
The way we do it here .....
These shots were taken a day after a 2" to 3" snowfall.
The temperature was a steady minus 10 Centigrade.
You can see the depth of snow from sidewalk plowing (second shot).
The top two photos are of side streets, the bottom one is on a bus route.
A relative of mine lives on a bus route in the UK, and didn't see a bus for four days after one inch of snow!
Comparing the paralysis of large areas of the UK to what we see here, perhaps they should look closer at the Canadian way of dealing with winter.
After all, we've been doing it for quite a while now ....
Burlington .....
I'm looking out the window ....
I'm waiting at the door,
To see if you'll be coming by
The way you did before .....
Lyrics from Cliff Richard song - I don't know who wrote it - or rather Wikipedia doesn't know either ....
