This contraption is the Big Shute boat lift on the Trent Severn waterway in Ontario. It can handle up to six boats (on webbing cradles) and transport them up an incline railway, over a road, and into another lake over 50 feet higher than the lower lake.
We went on it in my son in law's boat. Amazing!!
