Place of employ - until March ....

Who needs a resume when you've got a tool box lid ....

In the eye of the beholder ....

Plant window. Opaque sunrise ....
Only eight hours a day ....
I'll be retiring on Feb 26 2010 - I can't wait believe me.
I feel I've been extremely fortunate to have been "gainfully" employed for the last 50 years.
It would have been great to finish a tad earlier, say 55 or even 60, but events made stay in the workforce a wee bit longer.
As I say - I'm fortunate ....

The grandchildren wanted .....

A Yuletide float for their Christmas Pageant in the school gym, so some scrap wood - some left-over castors - a clown nose - a lot of screws plus gobs of hot-melt glue - produced this ....

Rudolf - nah - call me Speedy ....

Reflecting over Hamilton Harbour ....

I stopped on my way to work yesterday morning around 6-45, and took this shot of the moon going down over Hamilton Harbour.
It's not that often that I get a chance to capture a "reflective" moon like this, because either it's too cloudy - or more likely - I'm running late!!

Deepening Darkness at Magical Mumbles ....

Verdi's at the Knab Rock .....

A Welsh flashback ....

Dusk falls at Southend, Mumbles, Swansea. I'm meeting an old friend at Verdi's restaurant on the Knab Rock.
We're both old enough to remember when there was a Knab Rock at the site of Verdi's .....

The end of a great day - the coffee at Verdi's was excellent, and the company of a wonderful friend that I've not seen for donkey's years was even better!!
All in all - it was a perfect ending to a perfect day .....

The "WaveDeck" at Toronto ....

"The WaveDeck spans one of Toronto's many disused boatslips, and creates an attractive usable feature where none existed before."
So sayeth (in as many words) the blurb on this curvy addition to the Toronto landscape.
I haven't made my mind up yet!!

Wheeee ....

Definitly for the younger generation .....

Cirque Du Soleil. The other reason we were in Toronto ....

The Big Top.
We weren't allowed to take any pics of the show :-( so I had to be content with watching a wonderful performance, and of a few pics outside ....

Trying to make our escape after the show!!
The traffic was horrendous, so we just stayed put, listened to the radio for a bit, and watched the other guys inch their way homeward.
We made our way when the main rush had long gone :-)

In Toronto for a day out .....

Condo living .....

One day we'll take a ride on one of those .....

Building blocks .....

The Gooderman Building, more commonly called the "Flatiron Building" in Wellington St, was built in 1892.
They built it for the grand sum of $18,000. It was the head office of Gooderman and Worts Distillery until 1952, and was sold in 1957.
The CN Tower is hiding on the extreme left, and probably cost a bit more than 18 grand!!
