Storm moving in......

The heat move out, the storms move in. Can't have it all ways can you?

Canada's Stratford on Avon

An hour and a half drive west from our house is the small town of Stratford. Fittingly, the river is called the Avon.

Flying out of the picture......

Just strolling.......

Soil next......

Cut some drainage holes, line the base with mesh and landscape fabric, and put plastic sheet around the sides, then I can put the soil in.
Cut the posts down a smidgen, and put some plastic caps on them to keep the rain out.

I'd never have known......

Not a secret anymore......

This place is called "Secret Park", and it was a well kept secret too, because I'd gone past the area many, many times - and didn't even know it existed.
We'll be baaaaack.

No weeds allowed......

This will be the first of five raised 8ft x 4ft x 16" garden boxes I can fit in the old pool area.
This one is 30" high overall, so we don't have to bend while "tending the crops".
So far all I've bought are four deck spikes to hold the corner posts. All the timber is coming from the old above ground pool structure.

The usual please.....

Time for lunch, in a not very busy Queen's Head pub in Oakville.

"Wasn't that a party?"

Embarkation & Destination......

Leaving Oakville & arriving at Toronto islands.

Shiver me timbers! Prepare for boarding!!

Toronto. Arriving or leaving - it always makes an impression.

Yesterday, on my son in law's boat.

"What a referee!"

Another youth soccer game in Burlington. This time my grandson is the ref.

"That's the way to do it!!"

A beautiful day, a smashing beach, a bit of shade, and great company. What more do you want??

The Pride and the Passion....

When Wales played Belgium in the EUFA semifinal, it obviously got to some people.  :-))

Burlington Youth Soccer Club

Youth soccer is really big in Canada, with leagues sponsored by local businesses.
Leagues are determined by age and gender from 4 yrs through to teenage.
Five of my eight grandchildren play in it, so I guess I'm a very proud spectator.

Dawn on Lake Ontario

Not a new photo, but one of my favorites.

A spot I'm planning on visiting when next in UK.

Penllegare Valley Wood. Walking distance from Gorseinon.

Burlington in background, Hamilton Harbour piers in foreground, on Canada Day.

Getting ready for the fireworks.

The Old Mill in Toronto

A fine cold day in January provided some good walking weather. The Humber river was full, and the wier looked good, so I took a picture.

At Port Dalhousie

Working on it.

I've got to reduce the image size I think!!

Our back garden.

The trees have grown a bit since the last post.

And there it was - gone!!

Our old swimming pool is now history, and is destined to become a raised-bed garden area for some veggies.

Lancaster over Burlington

While watching a local soccer game, the Lancaster bomber from Hamilton Warplane Museum flew over - amazing!!

Let's try again

Just installed Blogger on my phone, so I'm seeing if it works.
