Canada's Stratford on Avon
An hour and a half drive west from our house is the small town of Stratford. Fittingly, the river is called the Avon.

Soil next......
Cut some drainage holes, line the base with mesh and landscape fabric, and put plastic sheet around the sides, then I can put the soil in.
Cut the posts down a smidgen, and put some plastic caps on them to keep the rain out.
Not a secret anymore......
This place is called "Secret Park", and it was a well kept secret too, because I'd gone past the area many, many times - and didn't even know it existed.
We'll be baaaaack.
We'll be baaaaack.

No weeds allowed......
This will be the first of five raised 8ft x 4ft x 16" garden boxes I can fit in the old pool area.
This one is 30" high overall, so we don't have to bend while "tending the crops".
So far all I've bought are four deck spikes to hold the corner posts. All the timber is coming from the old above ground pool structure.

Burlington Youth Soccer Club
Youth soccer is really big in Canada, with leagues sponsored by local businesses.
Leagues are determined by age and gender from 4 yrs through to teenage.
Five of my eight grandchildren play in it, so I guess I'm a very proud spectator.

The Old Mill in Toronto
A fine cold day in January provided some good walking weather. The Humber river was full, and the wier looked good, so I took a picture.
And there it was - gone!!
Our old swimming pool is now history, and is destined to become a raised-bed garden area for some veggies.
Lancaster over Burlington
While watching a local soccer game, the Lancaster bomber from Hamilton Warplane Museum flew over - amazing!!
