Kelso Conservation Area .....

The lake at Kelso is actually a reservoir. The dam is out of shot to the right.

The old farmhouse and pond ......

The Halton Region Museum. We'll have to go inside it one day!

None of the park facilities were open (too early in the season) so it was nice and quiet.

Thankfully the washrooms were open :-))

Burlington Canal Lighthouse ......

The stone lighthouse on Burlington Canal. It, combined with the light keeper's cottage is currently being restored by local citizens, the Beach Canal Lighthouse Group, here's their link ...... http://www.bclg.ca/
The ultimate goal being the opening of both for public viewing. I really hope they succeed.

When the lake's surf is up you gotta act quick - either ride it or photograph it - I'll do the latter one thanks very much.

Towers of Power ....

This line carries some of the "juice" from the Niagara Falls hydroelectric generators into the Ontario grid ......

Canal .....

Around 6-45 this morning I was on my way into work and saw the glow in the eastern sky.
Instead of taking the Skyway bridge with the usual hundreds of others, I went via the old lift bridge - slower maybe - but a lot more picturesque, and much more relaxing.
You can actually stop too :-)

Couldn't resist the colours .....

Flight .....

Around this time of the year, the sea gulls start gathering here for the breeding season. Strong south-westerly winds off the lake allow them to use the updraft off the lake wall to lift-off and soar without effort.

Some of the birds don't make it. The winds blow them into nearby traffic on the road running alongside the wall.

Reflections .....

As you've probably noticed from the light, the bulk of my photos are taken while going to and from work on a weekday, and when we go somewhere different on weekends or holidays. I just hope the site is not too monotonous. Thanks for viewing.
